Steve –
I wore these last week for the first time during a business conference. They will take some breaking in but they felt good walking and standing. They look great with dress paints and dress shirt. I’m very happy with the purchase at this time.

Horrible! These shoes are nothing like what Dr. Marten’s used to be. They were produced in Thailand and literally look like something that would cost $10 at a cheap department store. I wouldn’t actually want them even for $10, but this price is unbelievable!

I got the pink pair and I adore them! I’ve worn them a couple of times already and its a fun shoe. The quality is very good. Its not the most comfortable Dr. Martens I’ve owned. My feet were sore the first I wore them for over 6 hours. I feel its the kind of shoe that will get more comfortable the longer its worn.

Excellent shoes. Wear these as dress shoes on a day to day basis. Very satisfied with these.

I bought these in both white and black, and would buy them again 1,000000 times. I’ve worn them everyday since I got them several months ago and they’ve held up very well. That’s also against the use and salt of a new york winter.

Classy, rugged, and comfortable. They do have a period of adjustment so do not despair the first few days when they are not yet broken in. Once they are it’s like just a pleasure to wear. My last pair of Docs lasted 5 years of heavy wear in harsh snowy salty weather.

I have two other pairs of 1461 (one made in England, another made in Thailand). I ordered this pair in all white mono. It seems to fit a half size bigger than my other two pairs, and have a lot of wiggle room inside compared to the others where my toe lightly touches the end of the shoe. I’d order a size down but they’re sold out!

The shoe is not perfectly white. There is a slight green color to the leather. The sole and laces are bright white. Fits well, but feels cheap. I was trying to use then as a replacement to the Bates-Lites white shoes, but wearing white pants you can see the difference.

I am still breaking these shows in, but I like them a lot. Like new jeans, they are a bit stiff, but are starting to conform to my feet and get more comfortable. I think they are a good value and they seem well made.

Standard Doc Martin original style shoe. Bought these to wear with a white military uniform…much better quality than the standard military Bates shoes. Will probably use a shoe insert for added support.
Keith G –
Great shoe, looks smart and are easy to care for. I took a 6 mile walk the day I got these and the soles were really comfortable. I did have some pain on my left side from the shoe top line cutting into my ankle. It left a little sore that felt like a burn. I think the solution is to add a little riser inside the shoe so my ankle sits a little higher than the top line. This isn’t the manufacturer fault but my own foot shape as it reaches my ankle. Awesome product!

My husband needed shoes he could wear daily that would last and be comfortable and look good with a suit. He is on his feet all day and loves
these.

Nicely made shoes just way to clunky and masculine for a woman. Stiff sole which is what i needed but again, not stylish enough.

These seem like an upgrade over the Bates Lites that you would wear with a Navy uniform. Order a size up from what you think. I normally wear US size 11 (UK 10), but in this shoe that size was much too small. The next whole size up fits pretty well.

I’ve decided to return to Doc Martens after a long hiatus. I love the look and they seem perfect for my job as a teacher/artist. What hasn’t changed over the years is the sizing. I’m a true 7.5 in US sizes. Size 5 in the Doc Martens is too big on me. My heel slips around a lot. The 4 just barely fit, in fact rubbed in areas. If I recall, the shoes stretch and soften with time. But really, I have no patience for wearing uncomfortable shoes for any period of time. I really wish Doc Marten would offer half sizes. For a universally popular shoe, you’d think they’d jump on the opportunity.

very nice but very STIFF. returning for the other type of leather
great shoe though, super comfortable

Looks, they are docs, so not going to be super cozy out of the box. If you know this going in, you will not be surprised or disappointed.

These are terrible. They were extremely rigid and looked really cheap. They also rubbed in all the wrong places.
I don’t know what Doc Marten did to change things, but I wish I had mybold Docs because these are horrible.
ALAN –
Looked good initially, cheaply made, poor quality finish, within hours, my feet were painful with blister and sore points caused by stray stitching and sharp edges – would not recommend
Adam –
Sweet docs. Perfect for a suit. Unitarian but dress-up style without all the metro sexual bs. Just old-school nice shoes designed to last.

I have had DM for decades. I’m always size 9 from the 1980’s.
My last 1461 lasted for years. This new pairs of size 9? I couldn’t even put my feet in. I have no idea what happened. They look the same in size.
George –
Excellent choice for comfort and looks and
I had no break in time. These Doc Martin dress/work shoes are durable yet comfortable and have oil resistant soles!
Alee –
I wear shoes that are 6.5 US but for DM I get 6 and it fits just right. Thank you!

Full disclosure, these shoes are built tough and require break in. The leather is very stiff, anti-gloss black. They weigh a ton. The traditional air sole is not the brown natural rubber color, it is pigmented black to match the leather uppers. My 16 year old would go through a $125-150 pair of shoes every school year. Rockford, Cole Haan, Johnston Murphy, etc. He’s now a senior in high school and these Doc’s have lasted two years and still look great. It took a few weeks for them to break in, but totally worth it.
Scott –
Bought these for a wedding & they look good when you’re dressed up. They are a little stiff though, but they do feel like they will break in nicely after a few more times wearing them. The all black will definitely go with a pair jeans too.
