These shoes were possibly my favorite winter shoes! I am in the process of selling them because they are too big for me. I tried to make them work because of how much I loved them, but I can’t handle it anymore. Since they are men’s sizes, and I am a woman, they did run quite large. I would recommend sizing down! They are such a fashion statement and you will get compliments on them everywhere!

Firstly, I’ll say that the Dr. Martens 2976’s are pretty good boots, and a excellent alternative to Blundstones: – I was really impressed with the quality of the leather and the sole (it is goodyear welted!) and the interior lining of the boots is leather with a good quality insole included. The construction seems really solid, like good quality work boots, and though they are not steel / safety toe boots, these can pull off both the work durability thing & a fashion look. Very versatile! – My main gripe is that the sizing is a bit big. I’m a size 11 US with most footwear, (Adidas size 11 US usually fits me flawlessly) but the UK 10 / US 11 version of this boot seems a bit large in terms of length and width, and I have not been able to find a half-size down to compare fit. So, I personally “fix” this by adding an extra insole and slim heel insert. Overall, these boots are solid, though they are on the big side.

Just what I was looking for. Stylish but rugged enough to wear through slush and salt without worrying about harming the leather. They are very stiff at first, but after a few wears they are adequately broken in.

I tried in 3 different sizes and these boots just don’t ever feel right. The feel stiff and chafe in all the wrong places, PLUS they just look like big ugly clodhoppers. I finally wound up with Blundstones, which just look so much better and are very comfortable (though I wish they came in good colors)!

Amazing boot! True to size. Stiff at first but breaks in nicely and quickly.

Great boots and true to size. Like all my other Dr. Martens’ shoes/boots, I always order a 10 and they fit great. I’m an airline pilot and bought these boots for work during winter months. They are very comfortable and they look great with a pair of jeans on overnights as well.

Oh, Doc Martens and the half-size challenge…
These are such handsome boots, but I can’t wear a picture.
When they fit okay, they are too big, they look borrowed. When they look nice, they are exactly 1/3 of a size too small.
Sad, me.

Perfect style for dress or casual. The elastic gore caresses the feet which is wonderful. Unfortunately, almost all Doc Martin shoes are only available in medium widths, resulting in having to order one half size larger for wide feet. Ah well, this is still a great shoe, and nicely understated without the contrast stitching around the sole. The color is noticeable without being flashy. I love these shoes!

Nice quality

These are beautiful and very stiff – I couldn’t imagine dealing with them hitting the front of my shins while breaking them in and ended up sending them back. I did end up with Dr. Martens Pascal 8-Eye Boot – super soft leather!!

My fourth pair of DM’s, drives me bananas that Doc Martens only has whole sizes. I am almost always a 9 ½, so I got a 10 and they fit well because the elastic side bands are a little snug. I’ll probably have to add an insole once they are more broken in. They’re comfortable the sole is great, they’re easy to wear new right out of the box and the leather is soft enough so they’re easy to break in, and look great. I hope I wear these forever, they will look great once they’re really broken in. Love not having to lace them up, the tab makes them easy to pull on and kick off. I just wish these had the usual yellow stitching, so I’m sitting here with a paint marker and painting them in.

I initially ordered a size 7 thinking in most shoes I’m either an 8.5 or 9 in US women’s. Once they arrived it was clear before even trying them on they were way too big. I called Zappos immediately and had the most pleasant interaction with their customer service. I was explained the exchange process entirely and I had my size 6 boots in 24 hours. They fit like a glove and I’m never taking them off. Cheers!

Great boots. Well made from and beautiful color. The letter is thick and pliable.

The best shoes. Initially I wasn’t sure if I would like these because they don’t have the classic yellow stitching. However, I polished them up using some kiwi shoe polish and it made a world of difference (see photo comparison.) I typically wear a 7.5/8 and I got these in an 8 which was the right move. They feel great out of the box and aren’t too wide. I also own these in the cherry red and I weirdly found that the red was more difficult to break in? Either way I love them.

Had to return for a full size smaller. I normally wear a 7 in other shoes and another similar dr. Marten boot.
The 6s will be perfect once I break them in 🙂

Birthday present for my 18 year old; exactly what she wanted, and she is thrilled with the look. Not super comfortable yet (stiff around the ankles especially), but she knew going in that there would be some break-in time required.

great boots they are stiff like most dr martens but soften with time and wonder balm fast delivery good packing. Zappos is the best

These boots are beautifully made but unfortunately did not fit. The first pair ordered – size 7, my true size – were too large. I ordered a second pair – size 6 – and I struggled to pull the boot on, only managing to get my foot in halfway. Sadly, I am returning them.

I went out on a limb and bought myself something nice for Christmas. My feet are 10-1/2 Wide, so I got the US 11. After adding an over-the-counter cushioned insole, the size is perfect for my feet. I squatted down on my toes to see where the boots would crease, then applied mink oil liberally. Within a few hours they had become the most comfortable footwear I own. I wear these to work every day and I am very pleased. They don’t squeak, slide, or mark the floor. Walking is practically silent.

Love these boots!

I love these boots. I have been very impressed with the look and comfort of the boots.
I generally wear a women’s US 10.5 or 11, but size 10 in these boots seems to fit well (with plenty of room for thick socks). The boots needed a few days to break in, as the top of the shaft rubbed my shins. I highly recommend wearing thick hiking socks (or, two thinner socks) for the first several times wearing the boots.

I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 and ordered a 6.0. Putting them on the first time was difficult as they are very stiff but after a few wears the leather relaxed and now they fit really well. Otherwise, they did not need any breaking in and the shoe itself is very comfortable.

Absolutely love these. Fit is TTS and no break in period

Finally I found a pair of Docs that fit and are comfortable and don’t look to heavy in my size 41 feet:)

Super comfortable from the first wearing and fit is exactly as expected with sizing.
