When I purchased these shoes, I was not sure of the sizing, since they are base on Men’s size. However since I wear a size 8 in a women size, I had to order the UK 6 which is a US men’s size 7, that equals to a women size 8. When I tried them on they felt a half size larger than I normally wear. not a bill deal, because once I put in an insole they fit perfect. This shoe is so nice and really comfortable for a work shoe, and looks great on. You can not go wrong with Dr. Martens shoes or boots. I also plan on ordering the Dr. Martens Amwell SR work boot to change up from time to time. As always thanks to Zappos for there continued great customer and service and there fast delivery. You guys are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

Narrower then Nike’s

Felt kinda big even with some extra insoles. And kinda on the heavy side but the quality and workmanship is good and know they will last longer than my other work shoes.

TLDR: Size down, for real! Zappos customer service is awesome!
I’m female but have worn a size 9US/8UK in men’s for 15 years. Been wearing Doc shoes n ONLY Docs n their sister company ‘gripfast’ (still made in England) for boots for nearly that long too. Didn’t matter where they were the shoes were made.. China, Thailand, Laos.. wore them all n they were all the same. EXCEPT THESE! This is my first pair of ‘slip resistant’ shoes from them. I usually wear the Keith style but the soles were wearing down in a matter of months n that wasn’t ok with me for $100 shoes. (My gripfast boots are still going strong after 7ish years).
Got my UK8’s, tried them on n literally walked out of them. I was flabbergasted!.. yeah, that’s the appropriate word. I tied them as tightly as possible. The edges where they laced were even slightly over lapping.
Called Zappos freaking out n they sent me a size smaller, UK7. I was originally concerned that if they sent me the 7s they’d be too small n I’d be stuck. I could might, maybe, make 8s work.. but too small is too small. No way around that. 1st person I spoke to said I had to return them to get the exchange.. umm no. But 2nd person I spoke with told me my 7s would arrive in 3 days n I had 2 weeks to decide. Perfect!
The 7s are a little tight in the toe box, I have an extremely wide foot especially for a female, but they are stretching as they get broken in. Been wearing them for about a week of 10hr serving shifts where my step count is about 1700. So far so good. No blisters, no pain. Most importantly I feel secure walking anywhere in the restaurant without having to think about every single foot placement. I’m sure they are gonna be great once they are fully broken in!
I really hope they last at least a year. Will update that they do, if they do. Or will update when they wear out.

Felt great for the first few days, then started to get a blister on the inside of my left foot. Seems my left foot is a little wider than the right, and over a week of wearing the shoes in a kitchen, these began to rub me the wrong way.
The build quality of the shoe is pretty good, and I was happy with it otherwise. I’m going to see if there’s anyway I can try to stretch the leather on the left shoe a bit to continue wearing them occasionally, but I’ll be switching to Birkenstock Super Grips from here on out.
I formerly wore the Keen Oxford PTC, and was absolutely in love with it, but found that their quality went completely downhill since I bought my first pair, after I recently tried to replace them with an identical pair from Zappos.

Stylish and comfortable, perfect work shoe.

Nice and roomy. When I have had DM in the past, they have often felt real tight at first. These are great and roomy, but not enough where I might get blisters. The real test will be a few days on my feet when I start back to teaching in the fall.

I like them and perfect for work

This is a great work shoe super comfortable. But they are Doc’s so even though it says US size order 1 size down.
Tia –
this type shoe runs larger in size of which I a size 8 in shoe size of which I should had order an size 71/2 because it’s runs very large within wideth of the heel of the back of the shoe but otherwise it’s very comfortable shoe especially within standing on your feets all day especially for a person within flat-feet, this is perfect to choose because of the sole of the shoe, but I wish I had a much smaller size for a better comfort without slipping off my feet
Tia –
very well comfortable arch support which is made for people within flat feet to wear at work for much better support

Bought these after almost doing the splits several times during my last few shifts as a server. If they had 100 stars for an option, I’d give them 100. I’m a size 10 and ordered the womens US 9 and they fit great right out of the box. I would recommend these a million times over. Comfortable, they aren’t bad for Docs, and they really are non slip!
Ricardo –
Great shoes. I’m on my feet all day and need slip resistant shoes. These shoes fit the bill.

Our son wears a 9 1/2 so we ordered a 9 and it was perfect. He loves the shoes and says they are comfortable to wear at work with the non slip soles for requirements such as McDonalds. Great quality and style.

Cool shoes. Not as stiff as their boots, when braking in…

I bought my dad these shoes in a mens 11 after reading the reviews. His regular shoe size is a mens 12. The 11’s were huge on him. My brother is a size 13 and the 11’s were big on him too. I returned them and got my dad a women’s 11 and they fit perfect. I would recommend going 2 sizes down or buying a women’s size if you don’t have very wide feet. Once they fit he really likes them and has asked me to buy them in the brown. The shoes don’t need time to break in. He says they were comfortable the first day he wore them.
Denis –
Hey yo! These are great, they fit, they’re comfortable, now I just have to test them in the corned beef cooing for Saint Patrick’s day,3500 pounds?

At first the shoes were very squeaky. After rubbing the shoes with some leather oil under the tongue, they are now perfect!

My favorite shoe ever. I work 12 hours in these
Bryan –
First day I wore them they rubbed on my big toe, causing a blister. I wore them half the second day, then switched to some old shoes.. skipped wearing them on day 3. Day 4 and 5 I wore them all day and they started wearing in. By the end of the week they had wore in enough that they were very comfortable. They seem like they will last for a long time, and I’ve got several compliments on them. I would recommend these boots, just make sure you’re ready to break them in.

As others stated, this shoe is not true to size. It’s a size larger than marked. Order a size smaller than you normally would and you should be good to go.

Didn’t see 1/2 sizes so ordered 9, just a bit big but am happy with purchase.
Oscar –
Well the size it’s ok is just the width I think was too big
